As knowledge of the hazards associated with various chemical substances grows, environmental regulations on the prevention of risks associated with hazardous products are evolving. However, scientific and regulatory recommendations regarding the handling and disposal of hazardous materials cannot cover the full diversity of products and their applications.

They're everywhere... whether they're used to deliver pizzas, create an artistic show, or more seriously, to support the armed forces, drones are now part of our landscape. Far from the recreational drone that we place under the Christmas tree and end up in the neighbor's trees, the solutions of the EDEN cluster's drone operators embody the performance, technology, and reliability of innovative French industries.

At Eurosatory 2024, EDEN pooled the energy of its SMEs to deliver concrete demonstrators – from the EDDY mannequin to the MCO suitcase – and sign new cooperation agreements, in the service of a more agile and sovereign defense.

After a notable participation in the Eurosatory trade show, the EDEN network is asserting itself more than ever as a key player in the Defense Industrial and Technological Base (BITD). This quarter, the focus is on a major issue: financing the growth and innovation of French SMEs in the defense and security sector.

In this first issue of the year, EDEN highlights a central theme: innovation in the service of operational efficiency. As budgetary debates question the future of innovation support mechanisms (CIR, CII, JEI), the Cluster highlights how essential these levers are to the vitality and competitiveness of French SMEs in the defense and security sectors.

In a context where the need for sovereignty has never been so pressing, financing the Defense Industrial and Technological Base (BITD) is a major national issue. Companies in the sector, often small, must reconcile innovation, responsiveness, and cash flow. This edition of EDENEWS looks back at the financial levers put in place to support this transition.
